Iceland Whale watching Tours

– Whale watching in Iceland. Whale Watching Hauganes offers daily scheduled whale watching tours from Eyjafjordur, 25 min drive north of Akureyri in North Iceland.

– Best location to experience the whales in their natural habitat.

Whale Watching Hauganes is extremely proud of being the oldest whale watching Iceland company. We have toured with travelers on whale watching since 1993. Northern Iceland is globally recognized as the best location to experience whales in the world. See the Humpback whales, white beaked dolphins and minke whales.

Our two classic oak boats have been renovated for your comfort, have enjoyed good maintenance, are spacious, comfortable and extremely stable. As there are no generators on board, the engines can be turned off when approaching the whales making the approach as gentle and non-intrusive as possible.

We are proud to announce that our collaboration with our neighbour Ektafiskur /  Baccalá bar has been selected as a HERO experience by the North Iceland Marketing Agency.

We look forward to seeing you!

5 star ratingWhale watching ticked off the bucket list We went here in Nov 22 and it was the most amazing experience of my life! We saw 12 whales in total and they followed us down the fjord for 2.5 hours the guides knew a lot of them by name. It’s a few hours drive up north but well worth it if you have whale watching on your bucket list! I’d go again tomorrow given the chance. When you get there you are given thermal overalls so the cold wasn’t an issue, the scenery is beautiful, you’re offered complementary hot chocolate of coffee and some homemade cinnamon biscuits which were lovely! Can’t recommend enough

Fantastic Location!

Whale Watching Hauganes is located on the west side in the middle of Eyjafjordur bay, only 25 min drive from Akureyri and 12 minutes from Dalvik, where the ferry goes to Grimsey Island. Usually it only takes us a couple of minutes to sail to the whales because they are just in front of our little village in North Iceland.

Winter wonderland

The weather was beautiful, nice temperature, calm sea and pink sky that made the view stunning. We had 6 humpback whales in the area around Hauganes. We had a good time with the whales and we got to see one of our friends, Sóley they humpback whale.
